Didn't Lyndon Johnson or someone do something similar with a little girl and the nuclear bomb?
V V - I think Johnson put out an election ad with a little girl picking the petals off a flower and a nuclear explosion goes off behind her. I guess it meant 'vote for me and this won't happen to your children'. Not exactly subtle!
