I have been accused, several times, of actually flirting with waitresses. OK, now and again I was, but the point is I was always being nice to them. It's a pretty thankless job most of the time so a bit of positive feedback goes a long way.
Having been a waitress for a number of years, I can attest to the fact that it is a hard thankless job. Low paying too.
I always tip - unless the service is particularly bad.
Always be kind to the waitress staff, for that path leads to bigger portions.
