  1. Before anyone asks......

From Wiki: The Alcázar of Segovia (literally, "Segovia Fortress") is a castle, located in Segovia, Spain, a World Heritage Site. Rising out on a rocky crag above the confluence of two rivers near the Guadarrama mountains, it is one of the most distinctive castle-palaces in Spain by virtue of its shape – like the bow of a ship. The Alcázar was originally built as a fortress but has served as a royal palace, a state prison, a Royal Artillery College and a military academy since then. It is currently used as a museum and a military archives building.

  4. Gorgeous! My first guess was Germany, but I never imagine Spain with snow. Every mention of it is of arid plains, mountains...

  5. @ Mudpuddle: I do love castles - especially one's as amazing as this one.

@ Fred: Pleasure. I'm using Google Image Search where necessary. It's spookily accurate most of the time.

@ Stephen: My first guess was France. I thought it had a very French design feel to it. Apparently not! As with you this is not an image of Spain that springs to mind.
