  2. I've had similar experiences trying to describe a book I only vaguely remembered... Mostly I get what I wanted, which is pretty amazing & impressive from booksellers.

  4. I must admit, the colour of a cover will attract me to pick it up. All psychological of course. Although a boring cover hardly ever hides an interesting book [grin]

  5. Same here. There are colours that I try to avoid and I am sure you don't have many of them, either. Pink, for example. If a cover is pink, I am most likely not even look at the content.

  7. I love seeing displays like this. I have also been known to describe books this way when I can't remember the title. But there are so many alternate covers now, it doesn't always work!

  8. Librarians & booksellers must be REALLY good at divining what people mean when they struggle to describe a book especially if the like a challenge.
