  1. Have you seen The Reduced Shakespeare Company's Complete Works of William Shakespeare? Hilarious enough that I bought the DVD and have shared/inflicted it on friends numerous times. They do 'full' versions of Hamlet and Romeo and Juliet, but give the others different treatments. The histories are presented as a football game, Titis Andronicus as a cooking show, etc.

    This is Othello:

  2. I've heard of 'Reduced' and know a few people who have seen & raved about them.

I saw 'Romeo & Juliet' on stage ages ago and was VERY impressed. It was a 'modernised' version with everyone dressing in 20th century clothes & the narrator was a TV reporter. The party/dance was a disco in slow motion which was very well done. The funniest bit was the fact that there was a HUGE poster visible to the audience warning about loud noises. So during a fight scene when one of the actors pulled a gun & SHOT his opponent the WHOLE theatre JUMPED in the air including me!! [lol] Ah, I thought when my heart had calmed down a bit... That'd be the loud noise we'd been warning about....
