Right? Like, conspiracy theories used to be fun. Now there's a conspiracy for everything, and it's all because stupid people don't understand anything.
One reason why I like having a (sometimes very) basic understanding of things in general - so I can hear something and say "Well, THAT doesn't make sense". It cuts out a lot of bullshit straight away.
YES!! It's impossible to know everything about everything, but I at least have the basics for many things, and in-depth knowledge on my biggest interests
That's the best you can hope for - a broad knowledge (or at least appreciation) of as much as possible and then a deep(er) knowledge of things that interest you. But SO many people don't seem to have the foundations or the breadth... Hence Conspiracy 'theories'.
