I always hated the whole 'batteries not included' thing. There you have a toy (or some such) that you wanted and were excited to play with.... and no way to power it until the shops opened again...
I don't think I ever got a battery operated toy in my life. But I remember always having enough at home for the kids. Mind you, even they rather had a book and some Lego than a battery toy.
