Whatever happened to the 'War on Christmas'? Or did it go the same way as 'eating cats & dogs' or 'school litter boxes'? Up in a puff of rhetoric when it no longer served its purpose.........?

  1. Cities and schools are still saying stupid things like "holiday trees", so keep the guns firing, I say. :p

    1. All very weird. But if there was ever a 'war' on Christmas I think that Christmas definitely won!

  2. Well, Consumermas won, anyway. Mercifully my family is scaling down gifts this year to focus on the fact that my oldest niece is about to make me a grand-uncle on December 25. :D

    1. Indeed. The *GOD* of Consumerism... [makes retching noises] Congratulations to all involved for the coming event. I've been an Uncle 6 times over. Thankfully that's enough for me!

  3. Well, I don't too much like her husband, and I believe the feeling is mutual, but hopefully I'll be able to influence the little tyke so he doesn't just think about shooting deer and watching football. XD

  4. My nephew just visited his great-great aunt in the nursing home. She is 102 and my nephew said she was very alert, recognized him, and chatted with him about stuff. I just thought that was amazing! I grew up around her and husband always gave us kids quarters and half-dollars. It’s astounding to me that she’s still around and so mentally with it.

    1. Some people seem to 'burn out' surprisingly early. Others don't seem to be bothered by time much at all. They're often *very* interesting people which quite the story to tell!
