    You know what....? I'm not exactly sure. I thought it just looked cool.

    I did think it might be the result of a supernova but looking a bit closer I don't think it is.

  3. I see Stardust hasn't answered yet. It might be the Sombrero Galaxy, though I am not 100% sure.

  5. tommy's right, that is Sombrero galaxy - Messier 104

    Messier 104 is commonly known as the Sombrero galaxy because in visible light, it resembles the broad-brimmed Mexican hat.
