  2. I was lucky in a way that I didn't pick up too much debt at University the first time (and none at all the next two times). It kind of sat there for a few years when I was unemployed afterwards but as soon as I got a full time job it went away.

I know quite a few people who managed to rack up very impressive debts - though I feel the Mummy & Daddy probably paid them off. No chance of that happening with me!

  3. See, if I knew back then what I know now, I would have become a plumber or an electrician, I think... :p

What I find ...interesting is that kids from privileged backgrounds, whose parents could bankroll them through college, have been so cultivated by that background that they win the free-ride scholarships. Just recently I was at an awards ceremony of a prepatory school, and all of these kids whose parents owned horses and yachts were getting free rides, and all I could do was marvel. It's like...rain on the ocean.

Indeed. Who would've thought that having a degree in Social Ethics wouldn't lead to a life of riches....?

It has ever been so and probably always will be....

  5. I didn't rack up debt, but I spent a lot of years making virtually no money, which in the end is really the same thing.
