I can't comment on the numbers used but it's a valid point. However you want to define them variations of 'god' have been around for a long time. If you believe in one and reject all of the others you're only one step behind the atheist who rejects all of them.
I've had this conversation a few times. Somebody says "I can't imagine a world without "god", to which I reply "Sure you can" and cite those same ideas. Never goes anywhere after that, tho.
