Hah! A little dated in that instant messaging is SO last decade...unless we count stuff like Facebook and SnapChat, I suppose. Personally I haven't use an IM program since 2008 or so. My uni network wouldn't let Trillian (AIM/Yahoo/MSN) connect, so I fell out of the habit.
We use an IM type system @ work and I've experienced something very much like this cartoon in real life (or should I say IRL?) so it made me chuckle twice as much as usual.
