i get chagrined when i see the huge smiles on the faces of the bookstore owners when i walk in... i just know they're thinking about new sets of golf clubs or another Mercedes Benz...
@ Mudpuddle: I know what you mean. I'm sure that a few people in my favourite bookstores are putting their kids through College on what I spend in there!
@ Stephen: I do try to restrict myself (artificially) when buying off Amazon. I visit 'end of run' bookshops I know for real bargains and stumbled on another one just before Christmas. Going back there in a few weeks and I'm hoping they're still there! Last time between 3 shops I bagged 14 books some as cheap as $3-$4 (equivalent) even for hardbacks!

ReplyDeleteMy problem isn't bookstores...it's the amazon marketplace! I can always avoid buying in places like BooksaMillion because they want $20, $30 a book!
