@ Mudpuddle: I do so love to see old pictures of seemingly futuristic or far out inventions like this. You can just imagine someone coming up with that idea in a SF novel/film and someone else saying: Oh, yes.... We had them in the 1930's you know...... It's a definite 'thinking outside the box' thing isn't it?
I wonder what happens if one gets a flat tire.
