I read it in my teens. I don't remember a thing about it. Not many of those books had girls in them - especially feisty ones with guns. They came much later!
It's been a while since I read it last, but I think it was a woman who led him to the hidden group of telepaths. I may be wrong, however, for it's been a long time.
i read this when i was eleven and it warped, i mean changed my life forever... great book... i don't remember any girls in it, though...
