I did always think that those who thought that England was too heavily built up had never been outside London, or at least outside any big city....

  1. Interesting chart. Why are Scotland and Wales so much lower in farmland? Choice? Geography?

  2. Mountains I guess.......... Plus the populations of both countries are much lower - plus Scotland's climate is (I guess) not hugely conducive to growing things like wheat.

  3. isn't Scotland mostly owned by lords and land barons and such? and the peasants are crammed into little crofts in hidden spots?

  4. @ Mudpuddle: 250+ years ago... maybe.... But they've changed a lot since then. They've even stopped raiding across the border these days although that might change in we leave the EU and they don't... [lol]
