  2. Off topic question - a friend is reading a book about Attlee and the Labour Party, she’s looking for a book or website that would explain the parliamentary system to an American. Any suggestions? Thanks.

  3. @ Mudpuddle: Well, most 'boundaries' are imaginary/mad-made anyway. They wouldn't exist if we disappeared over night!

@ V V: Citizen Clem by any chance? I have that in a pile of books somewhere...

I can't vouch for their goodness (not having read them) but these might help:

British Politics: A Very Short Introduction 2/e (Very Short Introductions) Paperback – 30 May 2013
    by Tony Wright (Author)

There are LOTS of 'heavy' books out there on procedures & stuff but for a start I'd read the VSI book above - always a good start in my mind as I'm a BIG fan of the series). But if s/he wants to go further I'd point at these to think about:

An Introduction to the House of Commons Paperback – 10 Aug 2017
    by Robert Rhodes James (Author)

How Parliament Works Paperback – 15 Nov 2018
by Nicolas Besly (Author), Tom Goldsmith (Author), Robert Rogers (Author), Rhodri Walters (Author)
