RIP: Annie Nightingale (1 April 1940 – 11 January 2024). She was the first female DJ on BBC Radio 1 in 1970 and played great late-night music including some of my requests to her show. She was a significant part of my youth and my musical education and will be missed....
Aww, I’m sorry she passed. I also had a late night DJ who played some of my requests. It helped me feel less alone in the world. I had a touch of insomnia as a teen and would lie awake at night thinking very deep thoughts about the meaning of life, the universe, and everything. Music soothed some of the angst.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine a world without music... How horrible THAT would be! Late night music ROCKS!
ReplyDeleteI think we're of an age where our icons growing up will be slipping away one by one. All rather sad really........
Yeah, I’ve been noticing a lot of slightly older idols, icons, and entertainers passing. We’re approaching that age where it will only become more frequent. 😟
