Saw the first movie and read the first two books. I'm afraid that I was not impressed... [shocked look!]
I wasn't either! I started the first book in high school and was so bored I quit after chapter 6. Eleanor's father made me watch all the movies in anticipation of the final one coming out. They were fine, but not my first choice for entertainment.
Some of my friends became quite obsessed.... WEIRD!
Especially since now it turns out JK Rowling is an awful person.
