Yarr! The Constitution allows for letters of marque for this sort of thing. I doubt any of those have been issued since the Civil War, though...XD

I guess that Trump is hoping that if you prod them enough then Venezuela will respond thereby justifying Trumps attack on their country. Quite the 'Peace President'!

Or perhaps they'll do something to stop the flow of drugs from their end, given...'incentive'. His record is still better than Bush and Obama's on the 'peace' front. :P

So, is killing suspected drug smugglers over 1,000 miles away without any due process legal now? Or are you in favour of the 'Might equals Right' PoV?

It's no more legal than Obama's habit of drone assassinations, no.

So.... plain murder then?

"Indeed, that was an apt and true reply which was given to Alexander the Great by a pirate who had been seized. For when that king had asked the man what he meant by keeping hostile possession of the sea, he answered with bold pride, “What thou meanest by seizing the whole earth; but because I do it with a petty ship, I am called a robber, whilst thou who dost it with a great fleet art styled emperor.”

- St Augustine

Lysander Spooner said something fairly similar, I believe. My problem with either side criticizing either is that they have selective amenesia when their party is in power. Remy, the libertarian answer to Weird Al, mocked that in his "Closer":

"Those are things I'll protest and scream
Unless, you know, it hurts my team...
So hand me a pink poster because now I'm an opposer
Of the bombings and the wars
That for eight years I glossed over"

He uses the song to mock both sides.
