Also: I just realized...I'm only 7 or so years away from your age when we first met back in '08 or so. XD

Book shopping is definitely the way to spend a birthday! Enjoy!

It is indeed. I discovered a *great* shop some years back. Fantastic selection and ALL the same price for both paperbacks & hardbacks. I normally come back with 10-14 books each time I go there.

Happy, happy birthday CK! πŸ₯°πŸΎπŸŽ‚πŸŽŠπŸŽˆπŸŽ I’m following close behind. I’ll be 63 in three months. I hope you had a great day!

Thanks! Any sign of YOU retiring soon(ish)? I believe that my State pension kicks in soon - and possibly my free bus pass - so even MORE money to spend on books!

I think I'll have to reach more than 200 if I ever watn to achieve that. LOL

I desperately want to retire, get a dog, and hike the Appalachian Trail before it’s sold off to the highest bidder. I’m going to try to hang on for one more year, then probably be done by next May, end of semester. I stopped teaching after 18 years, now I’m just doing instructional design, 90% remote, going to campus only as needed. It’s a cushy enough job, just too much sitting and computer work that does nothing for my health.

Here's looking forward to next May! One of the things I liked so much about my last job was the fact that I often spent quite a bit of time away from the desk out and about either meeting 'clients' or contractors or on site during the active parts of my projects. Sitting @ a desk answering/sending e-mails all day (or making Zoom calls) never appealed to me. I did enjoy getting immersed in design work though. That was GREAT fun. I loved being creative like that.
