I don't think it was a mistake in the beginning. I'm thankful that Saddam is out of power. I don't think we could have expected Saddam to leave his country without an invasion and without a serious threat. I do not believe that the reason we went over there and overthrew him was because of WMD or the War on Terrorism. The terrorists responsible for 9/11 are still at large. I think we should have gotten back out of Dodge a long time ago though.
I think America was knocked down a few notches. I'm pretty sure there are tons of riled-up, little countries that want to get a shot at us. They act like their not afraid of us anymore but--they are.

Unfortunately that not exactly going to lead to a more peaceful world - especially if the US convinces enough people that they have nothing to lose by attacking you. Fear of the consequences only works in the short term. Its certainly no way to run a planet.

Granted. Sometimes US Forces are invited in. Sometimes they're there for humanitarian reasons. It's just such a shame that the US is throwing its weight around ATM. I fear it can only end baddly.

Yes, it was a bit more complicated but we were there and we helped. Churchill asked for military equipment and we gave it to you, remember? Then we fought right alongside and lost our men--clearly you know that this was American involvement that was greatly needed.

I agree. The sooner all of the troops are back home the better. It's just a pity they were sent out there to begin with.

Personally I think it was just about the biggest mistake possible and has made the world a *far* more dangerous place than it need be.
