There's a lot of truth to that. You know there are quite a few politicians who are either agnostics or atheists but are just afraid to admit it because they know they wouldn't be able to be elected.
Weird..... Most of our politician avoid mention of God even when directly asked about it. They believe it would make them unelectable - as it probably would.
hmm, I thought at the time, "I prayed to God for guidence over Iraq" was probably the sigle biggest war vote winner & loser for our respective premier's. I know lots of people who have never forgiven Blair for the comment, yet Bush regularly rminds his pubic that he is doing Gods work!
I'm not sure what it is about us Brits... but we seem to think that you really shouldn't talk about your beliefs in public - and especially not in public office! It's a bit like talking about your feelings... either embarrassing or just plain tacky. I'm not sure which though.
I do know that any public figure over here who speaks of their faith is immediately suspect.
Maybe the USA needs a few decades/centuries of a theocratic government complete with religious persecution... That would change their minds on mixing faith & politics.... [grin].
Naomi asked: Where do you find these wonderful poster, dear CK? Do you create them yourself?
If *only* I had that level of talent - though I do think I could've been a decent Graphic Artist in another life... [grin]. The posters are actually created by a group of people called 'The Ministry of Homeland Security' who take existing propaganda posters and re-jigg them for the present day. I stumbled across their website some time ago & snagged a good selection for re-posting here.

It's not exactly all wine & roses over here but it's not a bad country to live in - despite having to put up with Tony & his group. It does help though if you actually like rain.... and traffic jams.... It also might seem very expensive to you especially with the exchange rate as it is.
