The soccer season is just about to start 'over here' apparently - not that it's of any interest to me as I don't 'get' sport or the whole supporter thing.....

Not from me [grin]

I'm afraid that I have no idea who it is. I actually struggled to know what team he was playing for - it's the Cincinatti Bengals isn't it?

I used to be a fan of American football *many* years ago @ University when (the then new) Channel 4 started showing late night Football games. I even had a huge poster of Dan Moreno on my bedroom wall! Ah, youth..... [grin]

Not sport - sorry. There might be something though..From your Blog am I to understand that you're a Christian Philosophy student or a student *of* Christian Philosophy?

Oh, and good luck with the Soccer thing.... Ask someone to explain the Off-Side Rule. That's always fun... [grin].

There was a short period of years where I really loved watching football...it was because I was in love with one of the players....! I had gone to games when I was at USC for that one semester and sat in the "Card Section"...THAT was fun....then years later--like 18 or 19...really got into it because of my beau....But, that pretty much ended when we ended...!
It's funny...in that picture it looks like he hasn't crossed the finish line quite yet...So, if his body is over the finish line that's a touchdown? Hmmmmm. This is an imortant question CK! (lol)

Hey Naomi.

I imagine that at least some part of his body needs to touch the ground for it to be a touchdown? [grin]

Then we do have something in common. I'm starting a Masters in Ethics & Social Philosophy in September. If you hang around for any length of time I predict much philosophical debate here.... [grin]

CK, you should not give up completely on sport... There are two sports which I have found to be well worth watching: women's beach volleyball and sumo wrestling. I have heard that the (Scottish?) sport where they try to do something with brooms and a big weight on an ice court is "chess on ice" and want to watch that some time to see if it worthwhile, but I already fritter away so much of my time that I haven't seen any women's beach volleyball in years.

I used to watch a bit of Tennis some years back & even Rugby for a while - a friend was *really* into it. Most sport leaves me cold as I don't really see the point of it all.

I do, however, think that Jousting could make a big comeback if it was televised properly..... [grin].

Oh (and not meaning any disrespect or anything) but is Womens Beach Vollyball a sport... apart for the spectators that is?
