I didn't know what the commercial was for. I thought it might be like those public service announcements we have here trying to encourage kids to go outside and play instead of sitting inside playing video games like a robot all day.

Kind of [grin]. Persil - who manufacture washing powder - have been running a long campaign to encourage kids to get dirty & have fun while doing so. This has been linked to a push to get kids out there playing in the real world rather than sitting in front of their computers all day.
There has been a real concern here that problems such as childhood obesity are exacerbated by kids not playing enough outside. But then there is the fear (largely unfounded apparently) that 'outside 'is just too dangerous for kids.....
