yea that does seem rather hypocirtical< check spelling

I don't think that the death penalty is much of a deterent actually.... but it is an example of Christian hypocracy [grin]

Yeah, I never the hypocrisy of right-to-life people in favor of war and the death penalty. It seems pretty clear cut - if you believe all human life is sacred, then that includes murderers and rapists. Can't have it both ways...

Of course, there are those who interpret thou shalt not kill as "thou shalt not commit murder" - and "Murder" is a tricky word with varying definitions (i.e. war and death penalty isn't murder because it's state-sanctioned) so they can weasel their way out of the dilemma...

Kind of - except that 'murder' has a legal definition rather than a moral one. Murder is illegal killing so that State sanction death such as executions, war and abortion are not murder therefore - according to the definition that some use completely moral... which might be a problem in the areas of abortion of course........... You just can't win can you?

Hi, too lazy to go back and look for the post on the bus ads, but somebody must have been listening. They're planning to launch an ad campaign on D.C. buses and the religious folks around here are about to get their knickers in a twist. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,450445,00.html
