I'm thinking of JMW Turner, English landscape artist. I saw some of his paintings in D.C. a year or so ago. He does interesting things with light in his paintings. I think he did a lot of water colors, but I think I got to see a bunch of his oil paintings.

I had to click on the picture to read the caption, then I looked at the picture. What kind of flying device is that and from what sci-fi show or book?
Erm... It's an Imperial Tie fighter from (sorry) Star-Wars.
I *promise* that there's some Trek stuff and other SF things *soon*.
Those dastardly TIE fighters! I've seen them take out the Titanic, too.
It would appear that the evil Empire had something against *our* Empire [grin]
I do have a 'Turner' painting I might post with a similar theme..... [laughs]
Turner...the artist who was so good at painting with light and eventually lost his eyesight?
possibly V V - though his stuff always looked to me as if he'd left them out in the rain one day and passed them off as a new phase in art.....
