I've done that over the years, and now I'm surrounded by some really good people. Of course I'm still related to some of the others, you can never escape entirely.
I try very had not to get involved in talking about people - especially people we know.
But the guys @ work are pretty good and I try to drag the conversation - sometimes kicking a screaming - out of the gutter. Case in point: A few days ago, after an intro from a regular visitor was a 15-20 minute conversation about the meanings of opaque, transparent and translucent. Now that's what I call a conversation!
