Most of the time I hear my own voice 'speaking' in my head and it's clearly 'me'. Other times something comes out of left-field and I wonder where the heck that came from! No wonder beliefs in spirits and possession used to be much more widely held than today! Now fortunately we have psychology to explain it all away and drugs to make it go away (at least for a while!).
The mind/brain is definitely a wonderful thing. I wonder if we'll ever understand it?
What I enjoy is when I'm writing and something develops that I hadn't planned or thought about. It no longer freaks me out, I figure either it's percolating in the deepest recesses of my mind, or my muse is really good. :-)
I do like that.. when things unfold from an original grain of an idea. I've had a few things like that and end up wondering where exactly that level of detail came from.
