CyberKitten,

Privacy? What's that?

We are in the midst of a wide-spread social experiment....what will be the result of having a generation of people whose EVERY MOMENT, seemingly, is cataloged on facebook? What does a politician do when faced with an array of kiddish and teenage mistakes, let alone diapers-only mug shots?

boggled brain: i think Philip K. Dick had it pegged: people will live in tiny cubicles and watch 3D TV while being watched by Big Brother...

@ Fred: Privacy was (apparently) a concept that was all the rage before the Age of Technology.

@ Stephen: Yes, I understand that our children - at least in the so-called developed world - are the most photographed, most recorded and most 'shared' generation (so far) and all, largely, without their consent. Employers are already asking for Facebook profile details as part of their application process and, I've read, Homeland Security are asking for Facebook details (including passwords) as part of the visa application process. I wonder how long it will be before *not* having a Facebook account will move from being a bit odd, to be socially questionable, to being a cause of persecution to being illegal.

@ Mudpuddle: It does seem that some of the more 'extreme' SF predictions of man's relationship with his technology are coming true.
