A friend of mine who teaches in university says on his first day of classes, he tells his students...you have so many excused absences per semester. All he asks is that they use them to do something they'll tell their grandchildren about, not just to sleep in.
@ Stephen: During the 2nd year of my BA I had a 90 minute lecture early Wednesday morning and nothing else all day. I lived 5 miles from the College and didn't drive. So I stayed in bed.
@ Fred: Looking forward to Retirement every day. About 2 1/2 years to go.... [tick, tick, tick....]
I'm hoping to boost it to 100 a year. That's my target... As I've said the the guys at work: If I spend the rest of my life with my feet up reading books I will not consider it wasted time. My aim is to leave work early April 2020.
I'm also strongly considering doing a PhD... If I can just think of a decent subject to do it on!!!
@ Mudpuddle: Good one... But not quite what I'm thinking of. I have a long time interest in Rebellion (as you might have noticed from some of my posting) so I'm planning/hoping to do something in that area. Much reading to be done prior to that so that I have enough grist for the mental mill to work on.... Expect LOTS of books on the subject to be reviewed here over the coming years.

Ah, but there's retirement to look forward to--a second chance to be young again.

Two years to retirement? Oh, the books you'll read? ;)
