All the laws in the world won't help a society whose people have no regard for their character. It's like building a building out of crooked timber...it just won't work.
@ Stephen: Character has a bad name these days with many seeing it as both irrelevant and elitist. We will rue the day.... indeed I think we've already started rueing.
@ Mudpuddle: Oh, I came to the conclusion some years ago that the whole world is in *big* trouble.... and the sad part? We're doing it to ourselves.
