Apparently it's Bones and I; or, The Skeleton at Home by G. J. Whyte-Melville, 1901.
no, i never read it; but i'd like to... i found it on abebooks and ordered it: $8.50.... i'll let you know how it is after i get it and read, except by then we both will have forgotten about it... life is so unfair...
