My wife, when she was still my girlfriend, gave me a plush Eeyore because she knows I love him. When I proposed I gave her a small plush Eeyore with a small heart shaped box in his lap. It was just big enough for the boxed engagement ring. It was Valentines Day and she thanked me for Eeyore and I said, through gritted teeth, "he's holding a box". It took her a minute but then she realized the heart opened.
Eeyore is totally brilliant. I like the guy because he comes across as so real. I totally identify with him. It's probably why my favourite character in 'Inside Out' is Sadness. For me she dominated every scene and always made me laugh - she's just SO negative its funny!
