Spiders have never really bothered me that much. They can be pretty creepy when they run across your carpet but I spent more time worrying about me cat catching & eating them than the spider itself. I would've been more concerned about the spider I encountered in Australia though - it was HUGE!

and probably poisonous; i read somewhere that Australia has more poisonous critters than any other place on the planet...
There is not a chance in hell I would be able to close me eyes. I would be screaming and it would be dead.
LOL - I know grown men who would have EXACTLY the same reaction!
