@ James/V V: I had to Google the 'Blue Laws'. We had something similar - and for similar reasons - covered in the Sunday Trading Laws. Back in the 70's Sunday was DEAD with very few shops of any kind open and stores restricted to wait they can sell and how long they could stay open. If you had suddenly run out of something it was a nightmare. This slowly changed in the late 70's and into the 80's before the whole lot was repealed. Now everything is open all the time. I actually feel sorry sometimes for the staff who work on Sunday but at least they get paid more (I think!) I know I certainly did - 'double-time' on the few occasions that my office needed me that bad! It was a pretty good way to earn money but exhausting after the month's long stint we did.

in a civilized world...
Not in America with all its crazy local liquor laws.
The blue laws are nuts. I blame the religious nutters.
@ Mudpuddle: Maybe one day... Somewhere... [grin]

@ Sarah: Maybe someone who works there will see this and get a bonus for suggesting the idea?
