yeah, we live in a small forest with an increasing deer family AND squirrels AND chipmunks AND miceandmolesandowlsandcoyotesanddogsandus... not to mention the very large herd of elk that manages to make itself unseen for 90% of the time...
We are surround by environmentally protected buffer woods between us and the water. We are surrounded by deer, fox, coyote, osprey, eagles, herons, and egrets. I’ve also seen ducks, geese, river otters, turtles, raccoons, and rabbits.
@ V V: I'm jealous. I live on the edge of a big city but still see a fair amount of wildlife. Probably the most 'exotic' I've seen close up are foxes and a hawk/falcon sitting on my back fence eating a mouse it had caught.

a smaller version lives next door...
You have deer running around near you? I have squirrels - or my neighbour does...! [grin]

I seek out nature and the quiet places wherever I am, even in cities.
