I already said when Putin "acknowledged" Donbas and Luhansk as independent states, what about all those autonomous republics that want to separate from Russia. Will he acknowledge them, as well? ;)
I think this is Putin's last chance to expand Russia's boundaries to where he wants them. BIG mistake! After they lose in Ukraine there's only one way to go... It'll be interesting to see what the response is when Finland and Sweden decide to join NATO in the next few days..... Talk about 'blowback'!

I've heard the 'rumour' that Putin might be ill and wants to cement his 'legacy' before he goes. The way it's looking is that the legacy he leaves will be of a much weaker Russia and a reinvigorated West. Hopefully the Russians can learn from this fiasco and actually become part of the solution to the worlds problems and not just a geographical version of an Internet Troll they are today.
