Not sure if Annexing Canada is such a great idea. Do you REALLY want to mess with NATO? [lol]
Things are OK here. Summer looks like its finally starting to arrive and I'm starting to get used to this retirement thing, so.... Just the usual to cope with: shortages, inflation, talk of the End of the World. You know, the usual... [grin]
I've been playing Fallout: Tale of Two Wastelands, which is a mod that bridges Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas, so the end of the world sounds lovely.
Presently playing 'Northgard', a Viking RTS, whilst waiting for 'Tiny Tina's Wonderland' to appear on Steam.
I think with everything that's gone on in the world over the past 4-5 years - and going on right now! - we're getting used to living with/in the apocalypse. Of course decades of gaming & reading SF really helps you cope with that sort of thing! [grin]
@ Sarah: Of course I would be the kind of High-school student who would buy copies of any banned books from the school library and VERY publicly read them in my break times - then hand out the finished book (and others I could afford/source) to anyone who wanted them to also read very publicly.
@ Mike: I'm actually starting to have 2nd thoughts about Northgard. They've just 'improved' it which makes some aspects less configurable and, to me at least, less fun.
When we played Borderlands 2 I think we all fell in love with Tina. I know one of my more sensitive friends almost burst into tears when we found out more about her backstory and the reasons for why she was way she was in the game. She's one of my all time fave game characters - although I think the Borderlands characters overall (with one very notable exception) are VERY well done.
I would definitely do the same. The Brooklyn Library in NYC is offering free library cards to all high school students around the country to combat the book banning going on. It's only schools right now that seem to be banning books, but who knows which public library systems will start caving - especially those in GOP-controlled areas.

Ha! "Amphibians" is a mighty big word for people who think like that.
Funnily I had pretty much the same thought.. [lol]
Hey, Mike. How goes it? Planning a move to Canada yet?
Going well. I'm sure annexing Canada is next on the list.
How are you?

Pretty sure this would legit happen due to the extremely limited vocabulary one has to possess in order to be a member of the GOP.
Northguard looks pretty cool, but I could never get into RTSs. Tiny Tina is a fantastic character with a horribly tragic back-story.

Tina's back story definitely choked me up.
Too bad about Northgard. It seems an odd choice to make it less configurable.
