FOR SURE! I played The Godfather religiously for YEARS and loved it, because your character was the one who basically did the behind-the-scenes stuff that wasn't shown in the movie (for example, who planted the gun in the bathroom for Michael to kill Sollozzo and McCluskey with later). I saw the world like ein the first half of the 1900s NYC for a very very long time. And tried not to drive like I did in the game, lol
I remember playing 'Doom' a LOT and every time I was in any kind of building or urban environment I was checking doors & exits in case of creature attack. It became totally 2nd nature! Oh, and I'm SO glad I don't drive like I did in Battlefield 2..... [grin]
RDR2 really took over my IRL nature-viewing. Every time I see birds in the sky I want to reach for a varmint rifle that's not there, because that's Flight Feathers and Stringy Meat right there. It did make me notice more plantlife, though. I've found some species of herbs and plants in the game IRL, though I didn't dig up any wild carrots to feed to my horse..
It was funny a few times when a friend & I saw a discarded plastic 'soda' bottle that was reflecting sunlight & looked just like a proximity grenade from the game we were both playing. I nodded in its direction & we both just burst out laughing. People around us probably thought we were crazy!! [lol]

100% accurate, lol
Gamers see the world differently than 'normal' people..... [grin]
