I used to love reading game manuals at school during slow times -- and there was a window for a while where I could find pdf versions of game manuals on line, and read them before I ever bought the game so I knew what I was doing! SimCity and The Sims 1 had especially good manuals.
I remember unboxing games - back in the day of physical media - and pulling out disks, toys, fold out maps of the realms.... MUCH fun & extra immersion in the game too...
LOVED the game manuals too. I still have a few somewhere...
It is fun, buying an OLD LP and the intact insert fall out complete with band interviews, photoshots & wall poster....... MUCH more interesting than an instant download!

Love of game manuals seems similar to love of record albums, their cover art, their lyrics sheets, etc. 😊 I used to love dissecting albums.
