A young John Wayne, don’t know who the others are, but I feel like I watched this movie when I was a kid. It was odd to see him in a movie where he wasn’t a cowboy.
It's a still from the 1951 movie 'The Thing from Another World' (which was reimaged in the much more yucky body-horror 'The Thing' in 1982 by John Carpenter).
The guy sitting down in the hat (front left) is Kenneth Tobey as Captain Patrick Hendry (the hero) and the girl standing just off centre is Margaret Sheridan as Nikki Nicholson (the love interest). One of the things I *really* liked about the movie is their on-screen chemistry which is a LOT of fun to watch. The 'Thing'/alien/monster is played by James Arness!
Yes, I can definitely see the confusion. Plus it's only a small, low resolution picture. If you haven't seen the movie its well worth a watch. It's available on BBC iPlayer if you have access to it.
