Traditionally, the 24th would be the time. Christmas in the US is mostly protestantized, though, so people put up trees right after Thanksgiving, or -- in the case of my sister's sister-in-law -- leave it up all year, but stick it in the garage during the off-season.
Growing up we used to 'decorate' for Christmas about a week or so before the event. Here I used to have a little Christmas tree - with lights enough for a full-sized tree, lit up for weeks before & after the event. The lights broke a year or two ago - as they do - and I haven't replaced them. I do have a few decorations up though...
Hey Cyberkitten - just a heads up I've been quite ill with a fever this week... still reading Holmes but not sure how far I will get by Sunday. My plan is to review what I've read and then keep reading into January. Sorry about that :(
Absolutely NO reason to apologise! Tis the Season for bugs & stuff. Your health is FAR more important than a mere book review! Post a review whenever you feel up to it and concentrate on getting better.
I'll be posting my review on Monday 25th. I'll look forward to your review whenever you post it - NO pressure. As it was short stories rather than a novel I actually took 'notes' - kind of... to jog my memory. [grin]
