Then its childish, irresponsible and demeans the Presidency. The only 'advantage' I can see is that it distracts from what Trump is really doing (or intending to do) so that its not reported. In the meantime it annoys America's allies, causes political chaos, undermines the stature (whatever is left) of US policy making and gives hope to any Western adversaries both present and future. Its stupid, pointless and counterproductive.
The presidency could USE some demeaning. It has entirely too much power and respect, and has for too many decades. I want a president like the Swiss, who no one ever has to think about.
He was in office for four years and we're still doing this creepily monarchical month of mourning for Jimmy Carter -- and I say that as someone who liked Carter.
You (meaning the US) do seem to have quite a reverential view of the position of President. I imagine that most of the rest of the world thinks its rather weird. I know I do.... But I also think that about the way we (the generic Brit) thinks of royalty... WEIRD.
I'm always baffled about the term "leader of the free world". If the world is free and he is the leader, shouldn't the whole world be able to elect their leader? Otherwise he's a dictator.
'Leader of the Free World' always made me laugh. The US has spent decades undermining Democracy across the world to serve its own interests and propping up dictators to keep 'communists' in check. If they actually lived up to their own ideals they might be something to admire.

Pretty sure 80% of what he says is just for laughing at the reaction it causes. DC already has a base in Greenland, and has for decades.

Well, I think you're definitely going to get your wish about lowering respect over the next 4 years.... [grin]

Yeah, it's insane. And he stupidly believes that he can do the things he says he will. He doesn't know anything about anything and it's ridiculous.
Well, he's got the next 2-4 years to do something REALLY stupid.... I wonder what it will be? [muses]

That clown certainly is not my leader.
Ditto on both....
Well, here we are two weeks in and the really stupid things are already happening. Ugh. And it's only going to get worse.
It's a law that flags are flown at half mast for a month from the date a former president passes.
