I think that there is people who benefits form stupidizing the population. The poster is funny but shows what some individuals want us to believe.

Another great poster. I'd be laughing if I wasn't crying.

Indeed. The people who produce 'The Ministry of Homeland Security' posters are excellent @ what they do. They take a real propaganda poster and update it. Must be a fun job! I've managed to acquire a number of their art work which I'll be posting here.

Some of them are... quite close to the knuckle - especially about Iraq - so I'm being rather cautious ATM. You might see them if I have a mad or reckless moment [grin]

Obviously these are for one specific (and possibly 'extreme') point of view but I love the idea of using government propoganda posters to make a statement critical of the governmant policies - post-ironic or just ironic, subversive or over-the-top call it what you will.

I think that is what gives them so much impact, the conscious (or subconscious) contradiction of image and message in our minds...

(Re-read the sentence above - I also studied Media at Uni... I'm sorry this stuff fascinates me...I'm not pretentious really, well at least not often :-))

Then be prepared to be fascinated further. I have extensive files....

Some of them are so ironic it actually hurts.....

I can think of a few places in the blogoshphere where you could post that and everyone would be nodding their heads sagely & agreeing what a good idea it was....

scary.

Indeed. It's a little too subtle for some... [snigger]
