'Friendly Fire' always makes me think of Dad's Army, and the men tracking through the woods with their weapons, jumping at every little sound.........

Perhaps TV does reflect reality.....

I'm a little confused about the message of this picture. Maybe my brain isn't firing on all cylinders this morning. I note the picture of the torture victim from Abu Graib sticking in the back of the soldier, with blood coming out at the point of impact. Is this a commentary on the media's role in killing our soldier's in Iraq by publishing news not favorable toward this Administration and stirring up more hatred for our guys over there?

The way I 'read' it was blaming the actions of those at Abu Graib for increasing the opposition to the US led occupation - rather than blaming the media for reporting it.

But that's my interpretation. I certainly don't blame the media - they're doing their job (finally).

Hmmmm. I can see a bit of both but at first glance I took it as the unsanctioned and largely unknown (at the time) actions of a few coming back to bite the many (the "common" soldier), much to their detriment.
