There is hope....

Speaking as an Ohioan I too am hopeful about hope. As someone who is occasionally cynical, I hope Obama maintains his moderate liberalism. I hope he maintains his fiscal conservatism, and I hope he maintains his ability to compromise when needed and work with all. That is why I voted for him in the first place, and I believe he can do it.

As an aside, and despite the whining from the conservatives because I'm sure they are feeling the same thing I felt four years ago. But how nice is it to have someone who is actually intelligent as President and not someone who graduated in the bottom of his class.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all the Americans who voted for Obama. The great sense of relief I feel as a marginalized American leaves me nearly speechless. I'd also like to thank all the citizens of the world who have been pulling for us here in the U.S. and hoping like hell we'd make a wiser decision than what caused the last 8 years. Thank you for your support. Now we've got a lot of cleaning up to do to straighten out the mess that's been made these last 8 years. Please be patient with us as we go through this difficult process.

I'm in a red state and know my vote for Obama didn't count for much but I couldn't be more proud that I had done it. That was the best night's sleep I've had in a long time ... about 8 years, now that you mention it.

I haven't been this happy about a political event in a long long time.

I hope this is the beginning of a new era.

I have not seen this many people excited about politics - EVER. Not only that, millions of people excited to vote FOR someone rather than just AGAINST the guy they like least.

I'll be posting pictures from Grant Park soon. That was friggin awesome!

We Did It, dear CK! YES, WE DID!
I am so very moved by all of this...That I lived to see this day is just WONDERFUL. Wonderful for me, but truly WONDERFUL for America!

It is not going to be an easy road...BUT, I feel Obama inspires people in ways that no one has since JFK...And MORESO....! So, hopefully we will ALL work together to try to get our country back on the true road of The Founders....The last 8 years has put us all in such terrible jeopardy....And our relationshipd throughout the world, too....
Now, we must repair all that terrible damage, and I believe with Obama as our President, we can and will...not immeduately, but we will be on the correct road, once again. There is such HOPE here and enthusiasm. HOORAY FOR US!
