Okay, I'm stealing this one and sending it to a friend. Deep truths are often clothed in jest.

Angry, violent hate speech like this is going to make me stop reading your blog. Tone it down!

V V - Humour is great for slipping ideas past the average idea censor [grin]

Mike - I'm thinking about toning it 'up'.

Panel 1: Correct.

Panel 2: So do sports and politics.

Panel 3: Metaphysics is critical thought.

Panel 4: Then what are we waiting for?

At least we can agree on some things....

LB said: Panel 2: So do sports and politics.

Yet I don't see football teams flying planes into each other's stadia....

LB said: Panel 3: Metaphysics is critical thought.

Oh, I might give you that metaphysics is a type of thought process and that it is possible to raise various metaphysical arguments that might contradict each other... but *critical thought*? Of what exactly? Arguments about how many angels can boogie on the head of a record needle?

Unfortunately we aren't free of supersition are we? Indeed just about every society is chocked full of it - some more than others. Also - although we have the *potential* to think and act rationally we far too often let other things influence how we think and what we do about it. However, I do think that a more rational approach to life would lead to a better life for many.

That cartoon speaks volumes. I love it that it offended a religionist here too.

Huh? Who was offended?

CyberKitten said...

I think that LB took some slight offence - but he usually does when I post anything anti-religious.....

Hmmmm...methinks Laughing Boy is not so easy to offend. ;-)

Hence 'slight' offence. [grin]

LB is OK actually. You know pretty much exactly where he's coming from.
