Oh, I *loved* the re-imaging of BSG. I thought I'd hate it - just like the original series - but loved its dark and gritty realism (including not using fraking phasers!)
Top marks for the science part of the fiction. Figured the attempt at Newtonian physics in space was reasonably well done.
No marks for the eventual storyline though. And as for the cheat as the end (the safe zone just happened to be Battlestar shaped instead of Basestar shaped) ... ouchies.
Worth watching as modern sci-fi but they haven't come near touching B5 or Farscape yet for ongoing storyline.

I prefer STNG to Battlestar. Picard and Q are my faves.

TNG was OK but far too 'clean' for my taste.
