I always found that strange too. Why would God get angry over something He already knew was going to happen? What has God got to be jealous of? It's quite ridiculous when you start thinking about it.
As you rightly say God(s) should be way above all that petty all too human nonsense.

I've always found it interesting that a superior being, a God, was so endowed with petty human emotions. You would think gods would be above all that.
